ETF – European Training Foundation
The European Training Foundation – an agency of the European Union located in Turin (IT) – was established in 1990 and aims to contribute to the development of education and training systems in EU partner countries.
ETF works in countries which border on the EU, which are linked to the EU through the European neighbourhood policy, or which are involved in the EU expansion process. You will find more information at: www.etf.europa.eu/web.nsf/pages/Where_we_work
ETF supports these countries through the reform of their education, labour market and training systems within the EU foreign policy.
The ETF activities are embedded into a series of projects, which are carried out in the partner countries in order to facilitate reforms in VET and employment systems. The funding is provided through EU programmes in the area of foreign affairs.
The main tasks of ETF are:
- conducting specific seminars;
- promoting study visits;
- establishment of thematic working groups;
- making information and analysis about the reform process available.
Currently, ETF has about 130 employees.
