Peer Review in Austrian VET colleges
Preparatory work for Peer Review in QIBB:
In 2008, ARQA-VET commissioned the Austrian Institute for Research in VET (öibf) with a feasibility study entitled “How to build up a Peer Review network for VET in Austria”. The subtitle was: Feasibility study concerning the implementation of the results of the European Peer Review projects at Austrian VET schools and development of a Peer Review network.

In addition, the teacher training college in Vienna (PH Wien) conducted – under the supervision of pro vice-chancellor Dr Jutta Zemanek – a feasibility study on the same topic.

For the training of Peers and Peer Facilitators, ARQA-VET commissioned training concepts and competence profiles to be developed.

At the same time, the öibf was commissioned by the Austrian Ministry of Education, the Arts and Culture to conduct a pilot study involving 7 schools (originally it should have been 8) regarding the concrete implementation of the Peer Review procedure.
These pilot schools were: BAKIP Klagenfurt, HAK Steyr, HAK Wörgl, HLW Schrödinger (Graz), HTL Grieskirchen, HTL Mössingerstraße (Klagenfurt), Tiroler Fachberufsschule für Elektrotechnik, Kommunikation und Elektronik (Innsbruck).
