Elizabeth Watters is a consultant working in the field of EU lifelong learning policy.  She has worked in co-operation with the European Commission for twenty years, during which time she was the director of a number of national agencies and managed major EU Programmes in Ireland, including Leonardo da Vinci. She has also managed and participated in EU-level research and development projects.

She has experience in educational research and management as well as teaching experience in different contexts, including academic and technical universities. She has worked for, inter alia: government ministries and authorities, NGOs, and companies, the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), the International Commission for Migrants and Refugees and she has held contracts with UNESCO and Cedefop. She currently manages her own consultancy enterprise ERIU-European Research for Intercultural Understanding
